With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Andrzej, who peacefully passed away Friday morning after battling cancer for a year. He will be greatly missed by the love of his life Maria, beloved mother Zuzanna, and sister Elzbieta and her husband- along with many cousins and extended family. Andrzej was born December 12, 1957, and raised in Poland. His immigration journey started in Italy. It was a time when lifelong friendships were made. In Italy, Maria and Andrzej met for the first time. They both enjoyed many happy years together through both good and hard times. Maria stood strongly by his side and took care of him when he needed it the most. He loved travelling and exploring the wilderness of Canada. Telling good jokes around the campfire after a day of fishing was what made him happy. He and Maria spent many weekends camping together. Gathering mushroom in the fall was his favourite past time. He was an avid reader that could quote Franz Kafka as well as a variety of Polish poetry. He regularly attended concerts and had kept his tickets from each one he went to. Andzej was always the first to help those in need; his kindness and warm heart will be remembered by many. Through his last weeks he showed his care about Maria's future and asked his friends to look after her. We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Sunnybrook Hospital for the care and compassion shown during Andrzej's struggle with cancer. Visitation will take place at PAUL O'CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E (between Pharmacy and warden) on Sunday from 3-7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday morning at 11am in Our Lady Queen of Poland Catholic Church (Middlefield north of Finch ). At Andrzej's request he will be cremated immediately with the final place of rest undetermined; however, his wish was to be where Maria will be. He will be missed by many of his friends. Rest in Peace. . . Z wielkim zalem zawiadamiamy o odejciu Andrzeja na wieczny spoczynek. Andrzej odzekdl w spokoju i ciszy po rocznej walce z choroba.
