Charles Taylor, born. July 1947-June 2019. Son of Robert Taylor and Gwendolyn Taylor (Burns); son-in-law to Wilfred Beck and Maureen Beck (Turpain); husband to Stephanie Taylor; father to Patrice (late), Jai, Judah, Jason, Jesse, Jalaia-Marie (late), and Joshua. Grandfather to Jayshon, Lejai, Syncair, Jericho, Judea, Job (late), and John; Great-Grandfather to Josiah; brother to Arnold Taylor (late), Shirley (Eugene) Harvey (late), Judy (Preston) Dill, Sandra (Vincent) Outerbridge, Pat (Al) O'Connor; brother-in-law to Alex (Buddy) Beck, Yvonne (Lynch), Sharon (Barbosa), Tracy (Clubine); uncle to Cameron (late), Shane, Sherry (late), Keisha, Patrina, Tisheea, Tajai, Kyle, and Tiffany. Numerous other family and friends. Funeral will be held at Paul O'Connor Funeral Home in Scarborough, Ontario on Saturday, June 29th at 11 am.
Sadly passed suddenly and unexpectedly on June 13, 2019 in his 72nd year at Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital. Charles was born in Bermuda and for many years had a prolific career as a drummer, vocalist and entertainer. Played with and backed up many famous acts including Dianna Ross & the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and many others. Managed and played in many bands throughout the years, some of his more well known acts were The Burning Ice, The Cortinas (Michael Clarks band), Six Love and Three Plus Three Explosion.
Well known throughout Bermuda and his adopted home of Toronto, Canada for his contributions to charity and willingness to help out anyone in need. A lover and seeker of justice, a loving father and husband to Stephanie. His habit for talking to people and always making friends made him known affectionately as "Charles of the Mall" at Parkway Mall. Known as Tao to his close, longtime friends. Worked for the City of Toronto for 15 years and made many friends out of his co-workers as well. He will always be cherished and kept alive through the limitless memories his family and friends have of him and his works.
