Anne left us peacefully in her sleep on May 2nd at home. She was surrounded by family: Paul Graber, Will Graber & Jo Anne & Anne ten Brink, grandchildren Oscar, Charlie, Hayley Graber, Kevin, Shannon, Janelle ten Brink. Also survived brother Dick Avison (Lois) & sister Liz Avison. She will be missed by many friends across the world. We are grateful for the CCAC, particularly to Katrina (PC Nurse), Portia (PSW), Dr Khoshnood, & to Dr Sam Louli (lifelong GP to the Grabers). They helped give Anne comfort & a gentle passing from life.
Anne was born in Winnipeg, MB, on Aug 25th, 1931, 4th of 6 children. Graduated from McGill University -1952 BA English & History. Married in 1960, Anne & Paul lived in the same house for over 55 years, growing a family, creating their magnificent rose garden which she shared generously. Active since 1972 in the Canadian Rose Society, Anne was CRS Secretary, librarian & a rose judge. She received lifetime service awards from CRS & the World Rose Federation. The Anne Graber Rose lives on in many gardens.
Visitation will take place at PAUL O'CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave E. (between Warden and Pharmacy) on Saturday, May 5th from 2-4pm.
A Celebration of Anne's Life: June 23rd 2-4pm, 10 Fairfax Crescent, Scarborough. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Rose Society. Plant a rose in your garden to honour Anne.
