1929 - 2019
Unexpectedly but peacefully, surrounded by his children on May 4th at the tender age of 89. Poppa is already profoundly missed by his daughter Lisa Landriault who shared his home for over 49 years, husband Dan, Xavier, and Olivia; by his devoted daughter Joanne Stark, Dave, Matthew, Mitchell & Bronx; by his loving son Ron, Yelena, Igor and Ronnie. He has been reunited with his wife of 47 years, Olivine, who left us way too soon, and with so many other loved ones. His relatives and friends will miss his stories, a great sense of humour and his kind smile.
Wilf was a man of service. A proud 65-year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793, who remained committed after his retirement and never missed a meeting. He spent his work life in construction, building major Ontario Hydro projects. He loved his work. A devoted volunteer throughout his life, he was President, Coach and so much more for the Toronto Aeros Hockey Association during the 70’s and early 80’s. A longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus Scarborough Council 3296, he was recognized as Knight of the Year for his numerous contributions. Most notably, he raised funds by organizing monthly bus trips to Casino Rama for the past 20 years. He loved playing euchre and also organized the Young at Heart Euchre Club at Annunciation Church for many years.
Poppa loved small talk and had a unique ability to make conversation with anyone, anywhere, anytime! He always made people smile by saying something funny, even on his last day. He loved to tinker and found pleasure in finding new ways to make things work. It made him happy and we have a treasure trove in his workroom to prove it. We will miss so many special things he would do or say. Thank you for everything you taught us Poppa. We are so grateful and blessed.

I had the chance to get to know Wilfred only 3 years ago, but each year, I was happy to see him and listen to his endless stories... of course he was having fun with me... A fresh victim at his eyes... but I enjoyed every minute of it... and I will miss our annual encounters... my deepest and most sincere sympathy to all the family.
